Pricing and Quote Factors

Pricing is driven by a few variables. The fastest way to get an accurate quote is to include these details up front.

  • Material type (acrylic/plexiglass/PMMA, polycarbonate, ABS, PVC, HDPE, UHMW, etc.).

  • Thickness and sheet size.

  • Quantity and repeatability (one-off prototype vs. recurring production).

  • Cut method (simple saw-cut rectangles vs. CNC-routed shapes).

  • Hole patterns and machining (hole count, diameter tolerances, countersinks, counterbores, slots, cutouts).

  • Edge finishing level (saw-cut, routed, sanded/frosted, polished), and which edges are visible.

  • Protective masking requirements (leave film on, re-mask, or peel for finishing).

  • Labeling, kitting, and packaging requirements.

  • Required lead time (standard vs. expedited).

  • Shipping destination and delivery constraints (freight vs. parcel, liftgate, appointment delivery).

FAQs

Do you cut acrylic (plexiglass/PMMA) sheets to size?

Yes. We cut acrylic (often called plexiglass or PMMA) to finished sizes, from simple rectangles to complex CNC-routed shapes. We can also add hole patterns, countersinks, radiused corners, and edge finishing.

Do you cut polycarbonate sheets to size?

Yes. We cut polycarbonate panels to size and can add hole patterns, cutouts, countersinks, and edge finishing.

What plastics can you cut to size?

We commonly cut acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, PVC, HDPE, and UHMW. If you have a specific material, send the spec (or a link) and we’ll confirm it machines cleanly and recommend the best cutting and finishing approach.

Can you cut hole patterns, slots, and custom cutouts?

Yes. We can CNC-route hole patterns, slots, and custom cutouts, including countersinks and counterbores when needed. Send a drawing or file and we’ll confirm feasibility and recommend the cleanest approach for your material and application.

Do you offer radiused corners and edge profiles?

Yes. We can add corner radii and common edge profiles via CNC routing. If you’re matching existing parts, send a reference dimension or a photo and we’ll help you match it.

What file formats do you accept for CNC routing and hole patterns?

We can quote from dimensioned drawings. For CNC routing and repeatable hole patterns, we can work from CAD/vector files as well. Preferred formats: .dxf , .dwg.

Can you cut from my drawings, or do I need to provide a CAD file?

You can send dimensioned drawings and we can quote from that. For complex shapes, tight tolerances, or repeat production, a CAD/vector file helps reduce ambiguity and speeds setup.

What tolerances can you hold on cut-to-size panels?

General shop tolerance is +/- 0.060”. High precision tolerance is +/- 0.005”.

What’s the maximum panel size you can cut?

This is limited by material size more than our ability to cut it, the largest sheet we stock is 88” x 150”. We can also glue panels together to create MEGA panels, to learn more this click here to go to our seaming page.

What thickness range do you typically cut?

We can cut material from 0.060” to 6” thick.

What edge finishes do you offer?

We offer multiple edge finishes depending on your needs and budget, including saw-cut, routed, sanded/frosted, and polished edges. We can also put chamfers, bevels, rounded and unique edge details on for you.

Do you keep the protective masking on acrylic during cutting?

This is a must, the masking protects the materials while it’s being processed.

Can you provide polished edges on acrylic panels?

Yes. We can polish acrylic edges for a clear, high-end finish. Tell us which edges are visible and we’ll quote the appropriate polishing level.

Can you provide frosted or sanded edges?

Yes. We can sand/frost edges for a diffuse, matte look (often used to hide minor handling marks or reduce glare).

Can you label parts or kit multiple panels together for installation?

Yes. We commonly do this for most projects.

Do you ship panels, or is pickup available?

Yes. We can ship panels to you via parcel or LTL freight, deliver them to you if you’re in the San Fancisco Bay Area, and you can pick them up at our Petaluma, CA facility.

What information do you need to quote a cut-to-size panel order?

Send what you have: overall dimensions, material type, thickness, quantity, edge-finish requirements, and any holes/cutouts (with dimensions or a file). If you have drawings, dimensions, or an existing prototype, send what you have. We’ll review feasibility and recommend the right approach before work begins.

What are typical lead times?

If we’re cutting from material we have in stock, usually 1-3 days.

Can you do prototype quantities and then scale to production?

Yes. We support one-off prototypes through repeat production runs. If you expect reorders, tell us up front so we can set the job up for repeatability.

Can you match existing panels or replace broken parts?

Yes. If you have an existing panel, we can often reproduce it from measurements or a physical sample. For best accuracy, provide the original part or a drawing when possible.

Ready to Move Forward?

If your panels need to arrive clean, consistent, and ready to assemble or install, send your sizes and quantities and we’ll respond with clear next steps.
